Dave Nachmanoff: News

The latest from Nachville, August 2010 - August 22, 2010

I'm back in the U.S. after performing with Al in the UK at the Glastonbury Festival and The Stables in Milton Keynes, and then performing a solo show in Germany. In July, we performed at Cana's Feast Winery in Carlton, Oregon. Since I got back, I've been in the studio working on the next Silcock record.

This next Friday, Aug 27, Al and I will open for Don McLean in Riverside, California. On September 2nd, I will be doing a gig w/ Brandon Turner at the Odd Fellows Hall in Davis, at 7:30 PM. Details are on the Calendar page.

New Steve Kahn record, Belles-Silcock CD - June 26, 2010

Belles-Silcock CD

The third album from Dave Nachmanoff and The Belles-Silcock Family has been released! These are always fun to write and record. There are definitely different musical styles on the Belles-Silcock records. If you'd like to check it out, see http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/silockfamily3

Steve Kahn CD

Also, in 2009 I was asked to produce Steve Kahn's debut record. Steve is a singer-songwriter out of northern California. I also play several instruments and add some backing vocals to the CD.  The CD is called "Lookout: Songs by Steve Kahn with Dave Nachmanoff". From Steve: "These songs are offered in praise of our shared humanity; for those who climb the barricades, for those who just put their heads down and soldier through and for those who have dropped by the wayside."    That CD is now available on CDBaby as well: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/SteveKahn

Live radio show and concert in Europe! - May 31, 2010

I've met so many wonderful folks while on tour during the past few years. A great opportunity to keep in touch has come with Internet Radio on Tuesday, June 29th: I'm excited to announce that I'll be doing a call-in web radio show for fans & friends while on my mini-tour of Europe. My live audio stream will be available on my European website at 12:00 PDT / 15:00 EDT / 20:00 Western European = British Summer / 21:00 Central European Summer Time. Wherever you are in the world, you're invited to call-in and chat with me "on the air"! Please check davenach.eu for details. I am really looking forward to reconnecting and exchanging ideas about current projects, touring, studio work, news from the family and all you'd like to ask or talk about. The show will be hosted in a live conference and streamed on the Internet from two studios simultaneously, one located in Austin Texas and the other in Bonn Germany where I will be preparing for my one and only concert for continental Europe.

That leads me to the next piece of really good news. I'm happy to tell you that I'm going to do a solo concert in the Bonn area of Germany's West on Wednesday, 30 June, at 19:30 CEST (MESZ). This venue has limited seating capacity and the spaces will be reserved especially for good fans & friends. So if you'd like to come out and attend this special event, call for an invitation by registering through the form accessible via the password box on www.davenach.eu/4.html. The password is 'lucky', and I hope you are! A suggested donation of EUR 15 per person is welcome. It will probably be my only live appearance in continental Europe for this year. So don't wait too long to check in on davenach.eu. Details will be provided by email to those who ask for an invitation. I'm really looking forward to seeing many of you again whom I met in Holland and Germany in 2008 or 2006. It's promising to turn into a pretty rockin' night.

See http://davenach.eu/1.html for more information.

In the studio, The Dave-Bruce Alliance, and more "Uncorked" - January 18, 2010

Lots going on in the studio again.  I have been working on some more custom songs, and have a couple of projects that are due out very soon.   The Belles-Silcock family (www.allourboys.com) has their 3rd CD coming out, entitled “Brand New Chapter.”  This one features the boys singing and playing some guitar, even more than the 2nd one did.  Britt Miller’s CD, Juxtapose, is now available on CDBaby, and he has returned safely from his posting in Afghanistan.

“Jersey to California: New CD by ‘The Dave-Bruce Alliance’" has been released!  This album started when Bruce took his lyrics for a single song and asked me to put them to music. From that first "Custom Song" project, Bruce was hooked, and we became like Bernie Taupin & Elton John, with Bruce writing the lyrics in New Jersey, and sending them along with ideas for the sound or style of song to me in California. Some of the songs were even written in the same room, during some of my east coast tour stops. Before long, we'd assembled a group of songs that we both really liked.  Pick it up at http://davenach.com/products.html . Keep in mind that it won't be available at most shows.   Meanwhile, I am hard at work on the Belles-Silcock family’s 4th CD, and producing a CD for singer/songwriter Steve Kahn!

By now, you have likely heard of "Uncorked - Al Stewart Live with Dave Nachmanoff". It's getting nice response at folk radio and in some publications. Thanks to each and every one of you who bought it from me either on my site, or at the shows.  I’m very happy with how it sounds, but it’s been wonderful to see the great response that fans and strangers have had!  For anyone who wants to help spread the word, feel free to send reviews to Amazon.com, CDBaby and iTunes, and of course and “blogs” or websites that people use to look for new music.

Here's the information again:

Upcoming southeastern U.S. November shows - November 1, 2009

I'm headed to the southeastern U.S. in early November with Al Stewart - we'll perform at the Second Fret Coffeehouse in Statesville, NC (I will also open) on Tuesday, November 3rd; Eddie's Attic on Thursday, November 5th; the Sylvia Theatre in York, SC (I will also open) on Friday, November 6th; and the Holly Springs Cultural Center in Holly Springs, NC (I will also open) on Saturday, November 7th.

I'll have "Uncorked" with me, so if you haven't bought online but would like to buy at the shows, you'll be able to. The latest in Nachville - May 30, 2009

It's been a busy few months for Dave Nachmanoff. In late February/early March 2009, Dave did a pretty fast-paced East Coast tour with Al Stewart. His brother Michael sat in on bass in Annapolis again. Dennis, Esther, Ken and Lin put together a great house concert in PA and Al even dropped in. Dave had some fun local gigs in March and early April with a sort of unofficial "band" who did a great job of learning some of his songs in a short time!

Then in April, Dave went to Southern, CA to record some of the Belles-Silcock boys (www.allourboys.com) putting some vocal and instrumental touches on their 3rd CD, "Brand New Day" which should be out soon. Speaking of new releases, Britt Miller's CD is finally finished and available on CDbaby (www.cdbaby.com/brittonmiller), he's currently deployed in Afghanistan, so here's wishing him congrats on the release and safe return!

Finally, in May, Dave wrote a song with participants of the Birds of Song and Clay event at the UC Davis Arboretum, and he just spent an amazing 5 days with the Belles-Silcock family and the boys wrote 27 new songs with him! So, work will begin soon on CD number 4..
